Early Applications for Fall 2019 open Friday, November 2, 2018

Study Design in Vancouver!

Entry to the Bachelor of Design program at Capilano University is competitive, and applicants must submit a portfolio and other documents through the online portal SlideRoom.

Not sure what to include in a portfolio? See Portfolio Requirements for additional guidelines.

Shown above is an adventurous sample from a student application portfolio on SlideRoom. It’s a purple acrylic pour with silicone, which gave it a cell-like effect, and measures 16 x 20. The student who created it, Katrina Lashmar, was admitted into the program this fall.

We encourage applicants to include a range of work—abstract pieces like this, along with more realistic drawing or painting, photography, a page you’ve designed for your yearbook, a logo or t-shirt design for a friend, 3D work, even a short video.

Shown below is a fan art painting from a student application portfolio on Slideroom. It’s a Photoshop painting by Teresa Cantu, now in her 3rd year at IDEA School of Design.

Note: Submissions received after Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019 will be considered in the Late Admission Period.
