Second Year Students (IDEA Grad 2024) Design Some Very Creative Annual Reports in Design Studio I with Instructor, Vida Jurcic
James Neufeld
In Project 1 of IDES 243 — Design Studio I, taught by Vida Jurcic, students design the format and concept for a multi-page report, including a cover page, back page, and three spreads for the report. They also write a brief for their project and apply their design to a microsite.
There was some extraordinary work created overall, showcasing both the students' design and illustration skills.
Below are a few of the standout projects from IDEA School of Design Grad 2024 students including ‘2020 Annual Report Canada Post Corporation’ (shown above) by Nguyen Quoc Huy Anh (IDEA Grad 2024).

Background
Every organization that interacts with the public in some way (which is most of them) is accountable to the community. This accountability is manifested through a document of some sort for the public to see how the organization is doing fiscally as well as what they are doing. There are various interest groups that benefit from this knowledge depending on what the data is. This document may be an annual report or community report. In the case of a charity or foundation, there is often a document that is called a “Case for Support”, and this outlines the needs of the foundation, what it does for the community, and how you as a donor can support that.
