Henry Slaughter (IDEA Grad 2013) wins RGD's 2021 ULTRABOLD Award

Congratulations to Henry Slaughter (IDEA Grad 2013) for winning RGD's 2021 ULTRABOLD Award! The ULTRABOLD Awards Program celebrates emerging designers under 35 who are making an impact on the design community and beyond.

Check out his award-winning work and his shoutout to IDEA School of Design!

With a focus on graphic design, branding and the customer experience, Henry helps businesses find creative ways to connect with customers, build and evolve their brands for modern landscapes and bring consistency and simplicity to digital interactions. Having gained experience at creative agencies in Vancouver and Sydney, today Henry works independently collaborating with freelance copywriters, animators, junior designers and developers on his projects.

Henry received $1,000, free RGD Membership for 5 years, free attendance at DesignThinkers for 5 years and an opportunity to present at DesignThinkers.

Every piece Henry submitted was thoughtfully considered and designed. From his use and knowledge of typography to his fresh take on bold imagery and colour, I loved the fact that Henry looked at every piece of communication and collateral as an opportunity to help his clients stand out. And in the most interesting ways possible.

Through the ULTRABOLD Awards, the RGD has been able to shine a spotlight on brilliant creative minds producing purposeful work. We are really proud to give emerging designers a platform during the initial, trying but defining, phase of their careers. Thank you, Henry and our 2021 finalists for showcasing the power of design.
— Nicola Hamilton, RGD President
I like to attribute a lot of my graphic design accomplishments to the foundation I built at IDEA School of Design and their dedicated profs. And I know we were encouraged to take part in RGD as students/graduates.
