Congratulations to Sara Nguyen Student RGD (IDEA Grad 2021) for winning the Presentation Prize for #heyRGD February Challenge for “contrast” with Neume, a high contrast, modern display font. The judges were impressed with Sara's entry.

Like the font, this poster reflects the contrasting blend of historic imagery inspiration and modernized design forms and layout.
Neume Type Specimen
Neume draws inspiration from early symbols in Western music notation systems which communicated melodic flow. They are still used for Gregorian Chants in the Roman Catholic Church today.
Neume Sample Character Set
This high contrast, modern display font melds the thick square shapes and thin lines of neumes with the elegant curvatures and flow in Art Nouveau design.
About The Challenge
The February #HeyRGD challenge for Student RGDs was for the prompt: contrast. It allows Student RGDs to show off some of their work that features the design principle of contrast and win a chance to be featured on an Instagram Live or win a copy of a design-related book.
