Aleks Jones (IDEA Grad 2023) wins Gold for Graphic Design in the 2022 ADCC Student Competition with 'Aika'
Congratulations to Aleks Jones (IDEA Grad 2023) for winning the 2022 ADCC Student Competition Gold Award in Graphic Design with 'Aika'.
“Aika is a high-end Danish furniture brand that primarily uses locally sourced materials native to Denmark. Heavily inspired by mid-century modern shapes, Aika adds a modern and minimal finish to all of its products, while honoring Scandinavian craftsmanship,” writes Aleks.

Process
When I began this project, my main question was how to create a visual language that reflects the brand's products. Since Aika is a high-end brand, I wanted it to have a modern and minimal feel, yet I still wanted the brand to have some personality and honor Scandinavian design. I achieved this through the selective use of typography, iconography, grids, and color.
