IDEA School of Design Grad 2026 (3rd Year) took a field trip to San Francisco in February 2025 and it was an absolute vibe, blending creativity, culture, and iconic landmarks into one unforgettable experience. The squad stayed at a hotel near Fisherman’s Wharf, giving them easy access to the city’s historic charm and planned tour sites for that week.

The third-year trip to SF was amazing. The fact that we got a break from our school deadlines and got to experience a whole other city, see incredible design firms, visit awesome museums, and gain a lot of industry insights was awesome. There was lots of bonding time with friends, and overall, the trip was a huge success! It’s something to remember forever! :)

The itinerary was stacked with inspo, starting with a guided tour of the Letterform Archive, where students got the 411 on typography, both as activism and in iconic branding like IBM and Apple. They also hit up the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SF MoMA), where they got to get right up close with Lichtensteins and Warhols plus an array of modern art in a variety of mediums.

Although the days were packed and chaotic, I had a lot of fun spending time with friends and just taking a break from the usual mundaneness of schoolwork and family life. I was initially anxious about going but it was well worth it and everything went smoothly.

I’m so glad and grateful to have experienced such a beautiful city. It was a refreshing and educational trip, especially when we visited the agencies and studios, where we got a glimpse of what our working lives might look like. I have to mention that there are lots of good food spots and so much to explore in SF.

The crew leveled up their industry knowledge with visits to three top-tier creative agencies: We Are Collins, Camp + King, and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, where they networked and got the inside scoop on the creative world and how folks at each stay inspired, innovative, and curious. Of course, no trip to SF would be complete without snapping pics at the Golden Gate Bridge—total Insta-worthy moment.

I loved the train. If you go to SF, please take the train. The train is one of America’s greatest innovations.

They also geeked out at the Walt Disney Museum, diving into the magic and real-world struggles behind Disney’s legacy and vibed with the art at the de Young and Legion of Honor Museums, with impressive modern and pre-modern collections, respectively. To wrap it all up, they enjoyed a tasty farewell group dinner at Osha Thai Embarcadero.

I LOVED meeting other creatives in a new city and hearing about all the amazing projects they’ve worked on.
