Thinking about pursuing a creative career? IDEA will be at GDC's 3rd Launch! Education Fair
Launch Conference 2019 is GDC BC’s annual career development conference for design students, graduates, educators, and employers.
Launch! is a two-day GDC/BC initiative aiming to help new and budding designers launch toward a successful design career. This event provides an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to learn new skills, connect with peers, receive guidance navigating their career path and inspire creative thinking.
The two-day event includes a tour of three design studios plus a tour of a local print shop, followed by an evening networking social, education fair, projects review and workshops.

Studio Gallery 3311 Presents the ninth annual IDEA student painting exhibition
On Saturday, September 7, 2019, visual artist, illustrator, and educator, Jeff Burgess hosted the ninth annual student exhibition of works produced over the summer by IDEA School of Design students Sophie Young (IDEA21), Alison Johnstone (IDEA21), Charis Wang (IDEA20) (shown above), and Aidan Zecchel (IDEA21). “Hidden worlds, we share” – the Bird Series summer exhibition by Zoë Evamy
Zoë Evamy’s summer exhibition "Hidden worlds we share", water media paintings of landscapes and birds is up at The Old School House Art Centre, Qualicum Beach until June 22, 2019. Framed poster prints of the 8 bird paintings are up at the Sea to Sky Gondola Summit Lodge until July 30, 2019.

IDEA Interprets explores a single theme through typography and illustration. The poster show and sale helps to support the development of emerging local artists. The theme of the 2019 show, “Growth”, has been imaginatively interpreted by second year illustration and design students. Opening Gala: April 23, 2019 | 6pm-8pm. The focus of the Bachelor of Design at Capilano University is career preparation.
This year’s grad show theme is Every Type of Talent, which reflects the range of capabilities, personalities and interests of our 2019 graduates. We’re proud of their achievements and their growth since they arrived on campus four years ago.

Curious about going pro? Open Studio Day at IDEA is Saturday February 9, 2019
Twice a year we invite the public to our Open Studio Day, for an overview of the entire program and to show what makes it distinctive from other schools. Plus, it’s a chance to see where the action happens, and meet both faculty and current students. Mark the date: Saturday, November 3rd, 1 – 4 p.m.

Annual Valentine’s Day Card Fundraiser Sale by IDEA students at Capilano U starts today!
Second-year students at IDEA School of Design, Capilano University's Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication degree program, design, illustrate, print and sell Valentine's Day cards each year as a fundraiser for their third-year class field trip next year. The sale starts Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the library and cafeteria at Capilano University.
